Rosy Dawn Gardens is owned
by Glenn and Pam Quackenbush and is located in beautiful southeastern Michigan. It was
born of our desire to create a business that is an extension of our
passions for home, family, and gardening. We have many years
of combined experience in business, commercial horticulture, and home gardening.
We have been collecting and growing container plants for many years, as
well as growing nearly every kind of perennial, fruit, and vegetable that
can be grown in Michigan. We were gardening long before gardening was cool!
Every year we make a lot
of new friends but it especially warms our hearts to see
so many of you return year after year to order your
coleus. We do our best to make sure that you have a good
experience when you order from Rosy Dawn Gardens. We
work very hard to make
our website as
informational and easy
to use as possible and
hope you enjoy the
fruits of our labor as
you view the beautiful
pictures and learn more
about coleus.
Customer service is our
number one priority! We
receive so many nice emails from people who want to let us know how
much they are enjoying their coleus from Rosy Dawn
Gardens. We welcome all
comments, suggestions,
and pictures!
At Rosy
Dawn Gardens we try to
be as environmentally
responsible as possible.
All of our packing and
shipping materials are
recyclable and
biodegradable with the
exception of the small
plastic bag on each root
ball. We feel that this
small bag is preferable
to using a plastic pot
that is not recyclable
in many areas. The trays
that we use to grow our
plants in the greenhouse
are reused by us over
and over. When they have
outlived their
usefulness we can return
them directly to the
manufacturer (local to
us) for recycling.
It is important to us
that we send pest and
disease free coleus
plants to our customers.
It is also important to
us that we use as few
chemicals as possible
while producing our
coleus, both for our own
safety and for the
safety of the
environment where we
live and work. We have
tree frogs and toads
that live all winter in
our greenhouses, which
we feel is a testament
to our safe practices.
Amphibians are some of
the most
chemically-sensitive
creatures on our planet!
We want to thank our children, grandchildren, and friends for their
patience and support when we literally drop out of site from January
until June every year during our growing and shipping season. We
especially want to thank those of you who roll up your sleeves and
help during the April/May shipping crunch. We love and appreciate
you all! |
